Charleston Live Wedding Painting created at a sweet southern Boone Hall wedding
This Boone Hall wedding was so inspiring for Ben as a Charleston Live Wedding Painter! Rachel and DJ’s wedding day was a dream. And truthfully, every moment could have made for a gorgeous live wedding painting!
Rachel and DJ chose a classic portrait moment of the two of them, styled with their dogs, for their Boone Hall wedding painting. And the best part: from a vantage point that Ben painted for the first time! Rachel and DJ decided to have their ceremony in front of the beautiful Southern home, with the iconic iron gates as the backdrop. The architecture of the home and the ironwork design were part of what sold them on a Boone Hall wedding, making for a perfect live wedding painting backdrop!
Dogs are one of Ben’s favorite details to include in live wedding paintings!
A really common question we receive from couples is: Is it possible to include our dogs in our live wedding painting? And our answer is forever and always a: YES! Rachel included their dogs during her bridal portraits, giving Ben absolutely perfect photographs to work from during the wedding. We tell couples that even if their pups aren’t attending the wedding, we can still include them from photographs!
We love that Rachel and DJ decided on such a different composition and setting for their Boone Hall wedding painting. Since we wanted to include as much of the home as possible, we brought the Live Oak tree limbs and Spanish moss into the foreground. We just love how perfectly Charleston their painting feels!
5 Reasons we love a Boone Hall Wedding:
1.) Southern Charm
With over 300 years of history, a Boone Hall Plantation wedding has one of the most preserved southern landscapes here in Charleston. Life just feels like it slows down the moment you arrive. From the stately home to the southern hospitality, as a Live Wedding Painter, it doesn’t get any more Charleston than a Boone Hall wedding!
2.) The Allee of Oaks
This is quite possibly one of the most photographed and photographic locations in Charleston! The Avenue of Oaks is a stunning mile-long drive way as you arrive. It’s just an experience with the grand Live Oak trees towering over! (And also one of the most popular ceremony backdrops! Here’s a Live Wedding Painting Ben created there!)
3.) Venue Spaces
We love when a venue has several spaces to host the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The guest experience being able to move from the Avenue of Oaks to the Cotton Dock is truly a night to remember. To be able to walk from one location to another is such a win – guests don’t have to drive!
4.) Convenience
Though Boone Hall Plantation is tucked away, and feels very private, it’s conveniently located to downtown Charleston. Guests can easily enjoy the experience of staying in one of Charleston’s beautiful downtown hotels!
5.) Cultural Significance
Boone Hall has maintained their commitment to preserving the beauty … and the difficult history that comes with this southern estate. A portion of all wedding sales are invested back into those preservation efforts so that history isn’t forgotten.
If you’re considering getting married here in Charleston, as a Live Wedding Painter, Ben can say that there’s nothing like a Boone Hall wedding!
