6 Beautiful Moments to inspire your Indian Live Wedding Painting

As a Live Wedding Painter for over a decade, it’s an honor to be invited to create traditional Indian wedding paintings. From the deserts of Arizona to the cityscape of Chicago, and from elegant ballrooms to picturesque beaches, he’s had the privilege of capturing unforgettable Indian wedding moments for countless couples.

Ben is so inspired by the vibrant colors and rich spiritual symbolism that make Indian wedding ceremonies and receptions so beautiful. And most of all, capturing the love and connection between couples and families with each live wedding painting!

We thought it would be really fun to share a few of the most common requests and popular moments our couples request for their Indian Live Wedding Paintings!

1.) The Jai Mala (Garland Exchange)

One of the most popular ceremony moments to capture for an Indian Live Wedding Painting is the exchange of floral garlands between the bride and groom. This key ritual during the ceremony is a tradition that symbolizes acceptance and respect. Sometimes playful, sometimes super sweet, we love that this moment is both heartfelt and romantic. Sure to bring a natural smile and connection to a Live Wedding Painting. This is one of Ben’s favorite traditional Indian ceremony moments to capture!

2. The Mandap

When the traditional Mandap for the ceremony is overflowing with florals and innovative design, many of our couples are so excited for this to be the central focus for their Indian Live Wedding Painting. The Mandap is the centerpiece of the ceremony. Like a photo, we love that a painting can capture the full beauty and awe of the moment. Whether the ceremony is held with a gorgeous landscape in the backdrop or incredible hotel installation, it’s easy to understand how couples choose this as the subject for their painting!

3. The Saat Pheras

The Saat Pheras is one of our favorite moments during a traditional Indian wedding ceremony. As the couple circles around the fire together, it symbolizes commitment to each other, with the sacred fire as witness. Over the years, it’s easy to see how this has also become a very popular moment that couples choose for their Live Wedding Painting. For brides that are most excited about their traditional lehenga or wedding saree dress, this is a perfect moment. The side profile allows Ben to paint more movement with the dress flowing.

4. A Reception Dance Moment

We love the energy and joy that comes with painting a dancing moment during the reception! Whether surrounded by family and friends, or a more intimate moment of just the couple, this is a great moment to capture for couples that would like the focus of their Live Wedding Painting to be on the reception space. Ben is able to capture the ballroom with the florals, decorations, and the full romance and energy of the evening. Guests are able to really enjoy watching the painting progress throughout the celebration, too!

5. A Candid Moment or Portrait

In the last year, it’s become more and more popular that Ben’s couples request just the two of them to be captured in their traditional Indian Live Wedding Painting. This could be a moment inspired from the First Look before the ceremony, or during the Portrait time following the ceremony! Either way, we love that this focuses on just the couple and the beauty of the two of them together.

6. The Fire Ceremony (Agni Kunda)

The sacred fire is an essential part of the traditional Hindu wedding ceremony, symbolizing purity and the presence of divine witnesses. This is another beautiful moment to have captured in an Indian Live Wedding Painting. Our couples have requested to be either sitting or standing with family around the fire. Sometimes they will request Ben also include the priests chanting prayers and guests watching reverently. This brings a spiritual element of depth to the painting, and something that truly means so much to both families.
