Kathryn + Aaron
University of Richmond
Richmond, Virginia
30 x 24 in. | Oil on Canvas
Architecture is one of Ben’s first loves when it comes to painting. Having been trained to paint en plein air along the streets of Chicago and Italy, he cultivated a love for painting architecture. It’s always a joy (and a challenge!) when we’re invited to paint a breathtaking chapel, cathedral or synagogue! Kathryn + Aaron’s wedding was not only a joy, but also so inspiring as the chapel of the University of Richmond’s campus is just lovely! The two celebrated their love with a ceremony there on campus and followed with a reception at the John Marshall Ballrooms. The original plan was for Ben to capture the exterior of the chapel, however it turned out to be a rainy day, and we made the last minute decision with the couple to capture the interior and their vows as the subject for their live painting. So many times, the rain plan creates SUCH a gorgeous painting … and we can hardly believe it was our Plan B! Rain can be so disappointing, but we are honestly so thrilled with how Kathryn + Aaron’s painting came together! We hope this painting will bring a lifetime of joy as they remember the moment they become One!
