This was our first St. Helena Island wedding, and oh how it’s such a treasure! Nestled in the heart of South Carolina’s Lowcountry, St. Helena Island is a serene escape just 80 miles south of Charleston and 50 miles north of Savannah. This coastal haven, part of Beaufort County, is renowned for its untouched natural beauty and historic charm. Just 20 minutes from the quaint town of Beaufort or the sandy shores of Hunting Island State Park, St. Helena Island offers the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility.

Agapae Oaks is a 150-acre estate that includes the most lowcountry landscape! The historic Main House, dating back to 1790 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, exudes Southern elegance with its spiral staircase, turquoise shutters, and breezy porches. The property, lovingly restored by the Poggi/Mix family for over 30 years, boasts ancient live oaks, pecan orchards, and pristine marshlands, offering endless backdrops for wedding photos. Whether it’s a vow exchange under a moss-draped oak or a quiet moment on the marsh dock, Agapae Oaks provides a romantic and versatile setting for a live wedding painter to capture! This property could make a beautiful painting from every vantage point!
