Brooke & Tim’s Gold and Blush Agate Gem Stone Wedding

Merchants Hall | Charleston, SC

Brooke and Tim’s Merchants Hall wedding was so perfectly Charleston with pops of glam. Inspired by natural Agate Geode, gold and blush geo details were woven throughout their wedding design! From the custom seating to the intricate cake details, we love this fresh gem stone inspiration!

Merchants Hall is one of Charleston’s newest wedding venues located downtown … and we have been long awaiting the restoration and grand opening! It’s no wonder that Brooke and Tim fell in love with this venue and chose it for their reception location, with the beautiful historic, exposed bricks and the breathtaking chandeliers!

Pure Luxe Bride styled and coordinated an absolute dream reception … so amazing that we could style our own home with the details … like the chairs!! The florals were also absolute magic with their pops of dusty blues. Ben also loved that Brooke and Tim requested asked to have their adorable Golden Doodle named Dublin featured in their Live Wedding Painting, too!!

5 Reasons to consider a Merchants Hall Wedding in Charleston

1.) Location, Location, Location

Your Merchants Hall wedding will be located in the heart of downtown Charleston! The venue is located a very short walking distance from some of our favorite Charleston hotels, making your wedding experience all the more memorable! Hotel Emeline, The Charleston Place, The Spectator, The Market Pavilion Hotel are all a few blocks away! From walking to grab a coffee and breakfast, to an afternoon shopping stroll, you and your guests are surrounded by everything that makes a Charleston getaway perfect!

2) Space, Space, Space

We love that Merchants Hall is like a blank canvas to work with! Like Brooke and Tim, they hired an incredible designer that made every detail of their day so personal! With almost 3,000 square feet of venue space, the venue can host around 220 guests.

3) Value, Value, Value

At the time of writing this blog (November 2024), we were shocked to see that the Rental Fee investment ranges between $3,000 – $5,000 for weekends! (During the week, sits around $1,800.) We are honestly blown away by the incredible value of a Merchants Hall wedding, especially being located in the heart of downtown Charleston!

4) Host your Charleston Ceremony, Reception, or Both

With a Merchants Hall Wedding, you have the option to host your ceremony, reception, or both here! Yes, it’s one big open space that would be beautiful for a full ceremony or just a full reception. Brides considering one of Charleston’s beautiful local churches for the ceremony make Merchants Hall a great venue for the reception!

Pro Tip: If you host the ceremony and reception here at Merchants Hall, you can do a ballroom “flip” during cocktail hour! This is a very normal transition for weddings – we have been part of flips for the last 10 years. There’s two options: either guests stroll over to one of the local hotels or bars for a private cocktail hour while the venue flips from the ceremony to the reception. Or, with smart planning and design, you could have both ceremony and reception set up in the same space!

5) Southern Historic Charm!

Last but not least, it’s the Southern historic charm of a Merchants Hall wedding that we love so much! With the exposed bricks, high windows, and the most b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l chandeliers, it’s so perfectly Charleston! We also love that Merchants Hall looks out right over the City Market! You have that incredible energy of Market Street that brings another really unique layer to your Charleston celebration!

A Merchants Hall wedding is so perfectly Charleston!

If you’re considering a Charleston Wedding venue, Merchants Hall is a must to tour! As a Live Wedding Painter, Ben absolutely loves creating paintings here for couples! And, to have this much value for the price – we are truly impressed! Brooke and Tim’s wedding was so, so perfectly Charleston! Chic and Charming Charleston, in every detail and moment of their celebration!

Cheers to Brooke and Tim and their incredible Merchants Hall wedding day! What an absolute JOY to be part of their wedding day in such a special way!
