We are beyond excited to share Kat and Shelton’s finished live painting from their Atlanta History Center wedding!! The Swan House is hands down, one of our absolute favorite venues in the United States. Ben is lucky to have painted on this property several times. But in all of our years painting here, we’ve been looking forward to a couple choosing the exact painting perspective that Kat and Shelton chose!
Planning with Kat and Shelton’s Atlanta wedding painting was so much fun for us. Their creative and design team behind the scenes are some of the country’s A List creatives. (Anything Andy Beech’s Séjoure Events team is absolute MAGIC!) Each conversation with Kat became more and more inspiring as the details began to unfold. We couldn’t wait to see it all come together.
Walking down the steps of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center is what wedding dreams are made of …
The moment Kat walked down these steps of the Swan House to Shelton … it felt like a real life fairytale … absolute magic! I (Jen) literally don’t even have words to describe it! And let’s give Kat’s gown a moment … it was when she told me she flew to the UK to work directly with her dress designer, that I (Jen) knew she was a kindred spirit! (I used to work for a bridal designer!) My heart skips a beat when we see a perfectly styled gown … that’s not only beautiful on the bride … but also perfect for the setting!
Ben so loved capturing this recessional moment for their live wedding painting! His favorite part about the moment (aside from the incredible architecture) was actually the light. You can see in the painting how it hits the Swan House and the dappled light dances across the grass … this light isn’t “made up!” It’s what Ben saw live, in the moment!
Side note: Many photographers really try to avoid dappled light (and for good reasons!) … but as a painter, Ben lives for dappled light!!!
Needless to say, we are so excited to share their finished painting! It’s one for the books! Cheers to this amazing couple and their storybook wedding day!
