Chelsea & Anthony’s Pink and Purple Legare Waring House Wedding in Charleston, SC

Chelsea and Anthony’s Legare Waring House wedding is the perfect definition of why we LOVE calling the Charleston wedding industry home! Chelsea chose a dream Charleston wedding vendor team, with Pure Luxe Bride at the helm of all the design and planning! Together, they created one of the most beautiful weddings we’ve ever seen here at Legare Waring House!

And we have to take a moment to celebrate the work from Lori at Petaloso! Oh my heavens, Chelsea and Anthony’s florals were some of the prettiest we’ve ever seen in Charleston … oh my heavens, the pops of colors were incredible! Flora Wedding & Events styled the most beautiful ceremony arch of flowers! One of our favorite design details was also the Fountain that was overflowing with flowers! The Fountain alone could have made a great backdrop for their live wedding painting!

Chelsea and Anthony landed on having Ben capture their ceremony for their Legare Waring House wedding painting. And it was so much fun for Ben to paint! Their floral arch perfectly framed the two of them under the canopy of oaks! Needless to say, we are so excited to share their finished live wedding painting!

5 Tips if you’re considering a Legare Waring House Wedding

Like Magnolia Plantation, Middleton Place, and Boone Hall Plantation, Legare Waring House is a great location to host a wedding here in Charleston. Guests will love experiencing a little getaway to this beautiful property – it’s one of the most beautiful here in Charleston! That being said, here’s a few helpful things to know if you’re considering a Legare Waring House wedding:

Ceremony & Reception Locations at Legare Waring House:

There are several gorgeous ceremony spots at Legare Waring House! From the Avenue of Oaks to the Wedding Tree and Wedding Garden, the hardest decision is choosing which gorgeous backdrop for a ceremony here! The most popular we’ve seen is The Avenue of Oaks, it’s just magical!

The Fountain Patio is one of our favorite locations to host the cocktail hour or reception! Here’s a recent live wedding painting that Ben created during this couple’s first dance at their Legare Waring House wedding reception. Located just in front of the house, there’s a beautiful view of the Avenue of Oaks!

Each of these spots is so beautiful that it can sometimes be so hard for our Legare Waring House couples to decide which to include for their Live Wedding Painting! We always say this is a GREAT problem to have!

Transportation & Hotels

Depending on Traffic, the drive from downtown Charleston to Legare Waring House can be anywhere from 20 minutes to 45 minutes with rush hour! If most of your guests are coming in from out of town, it’s important to be sure they are aware of the drive to and from. Some couples will even arrange for transportation between the hotel and venue!

If the majority of your guests are coming in from out of town, they will likely want to maximize their Charelston getaway. Unfortunately, there aren’t a ton of great hotels in the West Ashley area for guests to stay. They will likely want to stay downtown or Mount Pleasant. Also, you’ll want to encourage guests to book their hotels as soon as possible!

Hours & Parking

Legare Waring House weddings can begin after the park closes at 5pm with a 5 hour rental. We love that weddings here have the property to themselves, without other tourists/vistors walking around! The privacy there is part of what makes weddings here so special!

Parking at Legare Waring House is great! Unlike many venues downtown, this is a huge win to have ample parking for guests! Especially if you have your ceremony off site. The parking is also great for all your vendors loading in and out!

Pricing

At the time of writing this blog post (November 2024), the rental rates at Legare Waring House will range between $5,000 for non-peak weekdays to $10,000 on peak weekends. Because the venue is entirely outdoors (the house is mainly for getting ready!), you’ll also need to factor tent rentals into the budget as there is no shelter from the elements. Trust us when we say, reserve a tent just in case!!! For Charleston, the rental fees are pretty average to high compared to other Charleston wedding venues, but the great thing is that Legare Waring House does allow for you to choose your own catering, bar, and rental services!

Hire an experienced Charleston Wedding Planner and/or Day of Coordinator

Legare Waring House does require each couple to hire a wedding planner or day of coordinator. We highly recommend hiring a wedding planner that’s planned weddings at Legare Waring House – it’s unique in that it’s all outdoors and does require creating an entire wedding team from caterers to florals to rentals. They will be a great resource in knowing not only the best companies and resources, but they can also help stretch your dollars to get the most for your budget! A wedding planner like Francesca at Pure Luxe Brides will know how to frame your budget, making sure everything is covered, while also creating a unique, one of a kind, designed Charleston wedding!
